The FLEUR D’ORANGER winery was built out of love for wine and creative enthusiasm, invoked by the magical nature of the Pearl Island and the exciting legend about a count who brought the Muscat Krokan variety into our region.

19th century
history

With its specificity and authenticity, the Pearl Island won a prominent place in the domestic and foreign wine market in the 19th century.
The greatest merits for the development of viticulture in this location belong to the Rohonci family, especially Count Geoden Rohoanti, who made all the products from his estate famous around Europe. The most fascinating variety that the Count bred was certainly Muscat Krokan. It is known for sure that the Rohonci tried to plant this magnificent vine in many locations in Europe. It is interesting that it survived only on the Pearl Island near Novi Bečej. The vine Muscat Krokan is autochthonous – it is unique in the world.
